About USS Houston CL-81

USS Houston (CL-81) was a Cleveland-class light cruiser commissioned in December 1943. She earned distinction serving in the Pacific, participating in operations at the Philippines, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. The ship survived a torpedo hit in October 1944 and continued to serve through the end of World War II.
